This was a rough for a promotional image for them fancy, chunky bikes you can hire around the capital. I went back to my old chums the Cyclopaths for this project, who I believe are still hanging in Finsbury Park tube station and have been there for about four years now. Unbelievably this one didn't get selected. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Budgies are brilliant. Do people still have them as pets? I haven't seen one in years. Here are some in their natural Oztralian habitat. But you only get green ones in the wild really, the other colourways are created by science. For that we should be thankful.

My tidy up continues: Here's some (rejected) roughs I did a while back for a company working on some kind of virtual-pets-living-in-a-virtual-city game. Above are the inhabitants and below are the kind of buildings they'd dwell in. I may pass on these architectural designs to the London city planners. They need to be built in real life.

This is ancient. I designed it for a screen print years ago. It's kinda nice but strikes me as being too generic with my modern, cynical eyes. I'm carrying on my clean up so I'm storing it on the blog rather than throwing it away for ever. Don't worry, the irony of storing old stuff on here rather than showcasing new exciting works isn't lost on me and there's be some new triumphs appearing here in the very near future, I'm sure.

I seem to be using this blog more & more to store work that I would normally bin. I'm getting to be a hoarder in my old age. There's something I like about these characters I designed for a kid's title that never got past this initial rough sketch. One of these days I may tidy them up and work them into something more polished. But realistically I'd only do it for cold hard cash as I lost a day of my life I'll never get back doing these and their environments for nothing. I'd better go before I get worked up. It's late.

Yes I know I promised that I wouldn't mention Scary Mary's Hairy Beary Fairy Tales again. But I was sent some nice photos of the show which were taken by a real photographer so I thought I'd post them up. Also I'm trying to get these pictures exhibited elsewhere and someone may see them here, be impressed and demand they let me show them at their establishment...

I was trying to do something cute to represent going underground. I guess that this naked mole rat just isn't cute enough. They do look great in real life though. When I was at London Zoo the other week the naked mole rat exhibit was closed as there were newborn naked mole babies in their compound. Did you know they live like ants or us Brits, with a single 'queen' who rules the whole colony who is the only one who can have naked mole babies. That's a fun fact to know.
