I'm working through an idea to make something with the most ridiculous eyes ever and I like the way these critters are going. There's a lovely 70s vibe happening here and I think the thing on my left was my subconscious crying out for Barnaby the Bear, who I'm going to google now to see if he did look like that - but I think he was red. Don't worry I'll link you to him.
It's Wednesday so that means it's Dandy day. There's a snow inspired adventure for Bear Thrills and I'm still sniggering at my own cleverness with the name of his new nemesis, Paula Bear. I like this strip, mainly because I got to do a load of rival scouts and they're all arctic creatures.
Like any man of my age I am super excited about the release of the new Pokémon game due out in March. Did I ever tell you about the time I organised the launch show for the release of a previous generation of the game only to have it cancelled at the eleventh hour? Oh, of course I did. Ahh, what could have been...
It's Wednesday so that means it's Dandy Day! Today's Korky the Cat story sees our feline chum enter the virtual realm of the computer world. It's a bit like Tron but more mundane. Although, now that I've seen the film I could argue against that. This was a fun story to do as I got to jazz up Korky's look with a neon/rubber sci-fi suit.
Also in this issue there's another Sheriff of Dottingham puzzle and Bear Thrills' adventures continue, not to mention all the great strips that other people do. And for only £1.50 it's a bargain price for the best comic around.
Here's a little sketch I did for a show I'm proposing. The pitch has been sent off and this isn't really any kind of spoiler so I thought I'd archive it here before I bin it. Now I've got you all wondering. What can this show be all about?
You'll be pleased to know that Mini Gay Boyfriend is well on it's way to selling 1000 copies and that's with out us even mentioning it. But now it's time for the big push so we can sell millions. If you have an iphone or ipad and don't own this, then get it now. It'll be the best 59p you'll ever spend. I think that's even less than a Turkish Delight these days. Tell your friends and download it now - you don't even have to be a gay.
Happy New Year! It's 2011 and I thought I'd try and draw up the highlights of the year. But off the top of my head all I could remember of the major news events were cat bin lady, the volcanic ash and that snowman with the pound coin eyes that got stolen. So here they are. Let's hope that 2011 is as equally exciting!
Being the illustrator extraordinaire and wondrous wordsmith that I am, I will endeavor to entertain you through the pages of this blog. I am still not sure if there will be any point to my ramblings but I feel that it has to be done so I am doing it. May God have mercy on all our adorable souls.
