Go Royals!

I wasn't that bothered about today's royal wedding, but I was worked up into a royalist frenzy seeing all the flags and bunting around London yesterday. I must admit I watched it all and really enjoyed it.
Here's a snippet from Korky and the cover of this week's Royal Wedding celebration edition of the Dandy. God save the Queen! It turns out I am a royalist after all.

Custom job

Remember Pictoplasma a couple of weeks back? Well here's the custom I made for Lunartik's Tea show. You can see the rest of the fantastic customs here.

Sketchbook page

Some people treat their sketchbooks reverently, keeping all their ideas safely stashed away in a pristine collection. Not I. I've streamlined one today, throwing out all the rubbish and refining the rest into a specific book for my current big project, which is going to be ace, thanks for asking.
But before I cast this book into the recycle bin I thought I'd scan and share this gem for you. Pigs dressed as Link and robots, Bubble Bobble characters, a flamingo and a lion. Happy Easter!

Easter Korky

Korky the Cat has an EGG-citing adventure in this week's Easter Dandy. Next week he actually gets to go to the Royal Wedding, the lucky thing. It's long weekend laughs all the way for the next fortnight so get involved and buy yourself a copy.

Primitive artifact

I'm throwing out an old sketch book - but as I was going through it I came across this. I don't know where it came from but I kind of liked it so I coloured it up and here it is. It reminds me of some kind of primitive animal totem from days gone by. If you're interested my animal spirit guide, apparently, is the wasp.

Prawn dab

I've just delivered a batch of twelve full page Korky the Cat strips (one of them is two pages long) to the Dandy. That'll be good for at least three months. Here's a panel from one of them as a teaser of things to come.

Pictoplasma 2011

I'm just back from Pictoplasma in Berlin. It was there, two years ago where I vowed to start this blog and here I am, still blogging away like a good 'un.
It was a great Pictoplasma this year and I had loads of fun with chums both new and old. It was very inspiring and new plots have been instigated which I very much hope to follow up on. My main gripe about the conference though is no matter how great and artist is, if they are no good at public speaking or are suffering with the language without using an interpreter they shouldn't be booked to talk.
While in Berlin I was reminded of the Bunny mandala. I have a couple of rabbits secreted away in this poster that Pictoplasma produced a few years ago. See if you can spot them.

Lunartik Mini Tea Tour

Look at me, freshly bathed, wrapped in my dressing gown, nibbling at a couple of mini egg cakes busily working away on a Saturday night. The reason why - I need to clear my desk so I can swan off to Berlin and live it up with the Pictoplasma set.
While there I will be staying at the luxurious 5 star Hotel Lunartik. The highlight has to be the launch party of his Mini Tea Tour. I have a piece and the collection so please come along and marvel at it. But it's not just all about me, there are 70 fantastic other artists involved so please come along and say hello if you're in Berlin next week.
