Beware Tall Grass

If you're in London's fashionable West End this evening pop into the Kid Robot shop and have a look at the pieces in this mini expo based around non copyright infringing Japanese style monsters. Along with my glittery pinnata offering (which I'll hopefully get a better photo of tonite) you can see such pieces of genius from the likes of Lunartik, A Little Stranger and Jon Paul Kaiser.

Screen prints bagged & tagged

I've just bagged & tagged a batch of screen prints for that indie shop on St James Street in Brighton that never gets back to me so I have to keep going in in person to try and catch the owner in person. I have it on good authority she'll be there tomorrow, so I'm going in.

Pokémon prints - the second set

This is the second design of retro Pokémon inspired screen prints I have made. I'm starting to get the hang of this screen printing marlarky as these are only two colours and secret master printer special effects to give the illusion of more.

As usual, give me a tinkle if you want one. They're A3 and there's 18 of them in various colours.

Pokémon Print

Look at these beauties. I'm very pleased with these. I've recently thrown myself into screen printing and I'm starting to get to grips with the sciences of colour seperation and registration rather than rely on a technician. This is my latest design - a collection of twelve images based on early Gameboy graphics.

I have a run of 20 of these and I'm selling them off dead cheaply.

£10 if you're here in the UK or £15 if you're abroad and that's with the postage.

As you can see from the images, some of these prints and pretty straightforward, simple prints whereas others are more experimental with odd colours and multiple squidgee swipes so let me know which end of the spectrum you'd prefer. I think I like the less conventional ones best.

Porkémon

The more eagle-eyed amongst you may have noticed that I'm quite a fan of Pokémon. So to celebrate the launch of Black & White I did a Dandy 'Madvertisement' in last week's Dandy. It's vaguely accurate too you may notice if you're a Pokémon player.

Fan art is fun

Like any man of my age I am super excited about the release of the new Pokémon game due out in March. Did I ever tell you about the time I organised the launch show for the release of a previous generation of the game only to have it cancelled at the eleventh hour? Oh, of course I did. Ahh, what could have been...

Jumpluff

I don't want you to think I've been resting on my laurels, as I haven't. I've been working away like a giddy goon but shackled with NDAs so I can't show you anything. However, here's something I worked up from my sketch book inspired by the badly organised Official Pokemon Championships I went to the other week in Birmingham. I don't know why that company continues to hate me so, while all I have to give them is love.... Anyway, fellow Pokemon fans will get this. It's Jumpluff and it's super effective!

Pokemon Show

I'll round off the Pokemon theme and promise to never talk about it again with a few roughs I started for the promotional material for the show. Ohhhh it could have been so great. Maybe I should try to butter up Sega instead.

Porygon 2 Tribute

Here's another one from the show. Now of course you have Porygon Z - that's progress for you. Right - now a shower and then I'll polish off that toffee chocolate eclair I bought from the reduced rack at Tesco's. It needs to be eaten before midnight. That's why it was so cheap.

Jigglypuff

It's no secret that I have a Pokemon addiction and Jigglypuff is one of the best of those guys. I did this for a show I was organising with Nintendo to promote the launch of Pokemon Pearl & Diamond on the DS. Sadly, the show got canned by Nintendo Japan though, which was a shame as it would have been amazing. There were so many ace artists all chomping at the bit to go too. Oh well. I may put up another Poke-painting tomorrow if you're lucky.
